As I was spending time in God’s Word earlier this week, I came across Romans 1:7. The apostle Paul addresses the Romans as “beloved of God, called to be saints.” Day to day, the students at CCA are referred to as “Saints.” Though I love my Kinder Saints already, to see them in the Lord’s eyes as “beloved of God,” my love for them grows and I am grateful for the time I get to spend with them.
As the Kinder “Beloved of God,” we get to enjoy His glory and presence through play, learning, and exploration. We celebrate His creation during recess, during an outdoor scavenger hunt for things God created on the 3rd day of creation, and while drawing self portraits that display how God made each of us wonderful and different.
In Bible this week, we learned about Hannah and Samuel and the blessings they received through their obedience to God. During P.E., the Kinder Saints applied the Bible lesson through various games that required obedience in order to finish but learned that even when we make mistakes, we can start again (and again!) and make things right.
When we begin to realize that peacemaking (as opposed to peacebreaking) choices promote safety and, well, peace in and out of the classroom, we cultivate and foster our relationships with one another.
As we sort food into the different food groups and discover patterns in numbers, colors, and shapes, we see God’s order and perfection in our studies of Science and Math.
Even during Writer’s Workshop, the Kinder Saints are making the connection that not only through words, but also through pictures, they can share and communicate ideas from their God-given, creative minds.
As much as I love watching these CCA Saints learn and grow, my prayer is that they would truly become HIS Saints, His beloved.
“I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.” -3 John 1:4
